I. The Paradox of Coordinated Disconnection
We live in an age of unprecedented coordination and deep relational disconnection.
Messages cross continents in seconds. Institutions can direct the actions of thousands of people through a single decision. Digital platforms organize attention at planetary scale. Economic, political, and technological systems increasingly operate through dense networks of interdependence.
Yet the greater our capacity to coordinate, the less clearly we often perceive the relations being shaped by that coordination.
